Abstract: As a school leader in rural British Columbia, I have observed growing pressure on educators to design learning that is meaningful, personalized, and relevant to contemporary learners. With Artificial Intelligence (AI) rapidly advancing, K-12 schools must consider how this technology can support instruction. This paper argues that the effective integration of AI into K-12 education requires purposeful implementation across instructional, assessment, and curricular domains. Findings suggest that when used thoughtfully, AI can enhance student learning through differentiation, timely assessment, and responsive learning environments. Recommendations emphasize professional learning and a developmentally aligned AI curriculum as foundational steps toward effective implementation.
